In July, we received an incredible 8 metric tons of relief supplies

During July, we received 8.1 metric tons of in-kind donations. Thanks to the support of donors, partners, and volunteers, we were able to ensure that most of the donated textiles went where they were truly needed or were processed in an environmentally responsible manner.

Of the total amount, we:
• distributed 4.9 metric tons through our partner organizations throughout the Czech Republic,
• handed over 1.7 metric tons to POTEX for eco-friendly textile processing,
• delivered 1 metric ton to Ragtex for further material reuse,
• and distributed 0.5 metric tons to our network of Fashion Charity Shops.

In July, material aid was provided, for example, to the following organizations: HC Srdce, Dobré místo, KLOKTEX, Bohnice Psychiatric Hospital, Jihlava Regional Charity, Otevřené dveře Knížkovice, Prague 18 Municipal District, Kolín Charity, AD Chrudim, RUBIKON Sokolov, Betlém Cheb Shelter, Centrum Valika, OSPOD Karlovy Vary, Sokolov Foster Parent Network, GOPALA o.p.s., NRZP Counseling Center in Karlovy Vary, PORTIMO, and Romodrom.

We also received tremendous support from MESSER Technogas, SEYFOR, PUMAX, SSI, and our general partner, JTI. Special thanks go to SSI Group, which donated 600 kg of material aid in the form of men’s suits to us in July. We also extend our heartfelt thanks to all individual donors who have shown us their trust over the long term, as well as to the volunteers from Amazon, whose help was invaluable again this month.

The Karlovy Vary Textile Center Is Expanding

Part of our efforts toward responsible textile management is the development of the Karlovy Vary Textile Center, which has entered a new phase of operation. Following the installation of the first used textile collection bins, regular pickups are now underway from partner towns and municipalities across the Karlovy Vary Region. Currently, 16 municipalities and towns are participating in the project, with a total of 23 used textile collection bins deployed throughout the region.

Every bag or sack of textiles undergoes careful sorting. Clothing and other textiles that are still in good condition are given a second chance and help people in need. Textiles that can no longer be reused are sent for material recycling or eco-friendly processing. Thanks to this, they do not end up unnecessarily in landfills and are utilized as efficiently as possible.

We are delighted that more towns and municipalities are gradually joining the project. We will continue to expand the network of collection bins throughout the year so that as many residents of the Karlovy Vary Region as possible have the opportunity to donate used textiles.
