The first half of 2026 was a period of intense work, new partnerships, and significant projects for the Clothing Bank. Thanks to the support of companies, institutions, municipalities, volunteers, and thousands of individual donors, we were able to turn donated clothing into tangible help for people facing difficult life circumstances.
Aid by the Numbers
In the first six months of 2026, we received nearly 50 metric tons of material aid.
Of this amount, we:
• distributed 33.5 metric tons through our partner organizations throughout the Czech Republic,
• provided 2 metric tons in the form of emergency packages to individual applicants,
• delivered 3 metric tons to our network of Fashion Charity Shops,
• handed over 4.5 metric tons to Ragtex for further material reuse,
• delivered 10 metric tons to POTEX for eco-friendly textile processing.
During the first half of the year, aid was directed to dozens of organizations across the country—such as HC Srdce, Dobré místo, Hnutí pro život, KLOKTEX, Rubikon Karlovy Vary, Potravinová banka Central, ADRA Plzeň, SKP-CENTRUM Pardubice, Bohnice Psychiatric Hospital, Charita Hradec Králové, shelters, children’s homes, municipal offices, and other organizations that help people in need every day.
Every donation has its own story
We were delighted to receive a number of targeted donations from our partners during the first half of the year. EVONA donated more than 300 kg of new underwear and sweatpants, which are among the items most frequently in short supply.
We also greatly appreciate the employee fundraising drives organized by companies, thanks to which people in need received not only quality clothing but also toiletries and other necessary items.
Volunteers—An Indispensable Part of the Clothing Bank
A huge thank you also goes to the volunteers from Amazon, Česká spořitelna, TotalEnergies, GRAFTON, and other companies. Without their help in sorting donations and running the warehouse, we would not be able to process such large volumes of material aid.
Awareness Campaigns and New Projects
The first half of the year wasn’t just about distributing aid.
We launched the “Save a T-Shirt” educational program, which teaches children about responsible textile consumption and shows them that clothing doesn’t have to end up in the trash.
Another major step was the launch of the “Obleč Plzeň” and “Obleč České Budějovice” portals, which expand the network of regional projects building on successful initiatives in Prague, Brno, and Jihlava.
We also continued to develop our collaboration with the Liberec Region Furniture Bank and the South Bohemian Region Furniture Bank.
The Karlovy Vary Region as an Example of Best Practice
One of the most significant milestones of the first half of the year was the launch of the Karlovy Vary Region Regional Textile Center. Its goal is not merely to collect textiles, but to create a functional regional system that connects municipalities, social services, businesses, and the public. Usable clothing remains in the region and helps people in need, while textiles unsuitable for direct aid are sent for further processing. At the same time, the project offers municipalities a practical solution for fulfilling their legal obligation to separately collect textiles and demonstrates that environmental responsibility can go hand in hand with social assistance. We believe that this pilot model will serve as an inspiration for other regions of the Czech Republic.
We also presented the project at a professional seminar organized by the Regional Development Agency of the Pilsen Region, where we discussed the future of textile waste and new legislative obligations for municipalities. We are pleased that the Karlovy Vary Region is becoming an inspiration for other regions of the Czech Republic.
The help was both seen and heard
It was a great honor for us to appear on the show *Inkognito*, where we were able to explain to the general public how the Clothing Bank works and show how important the collaboration between donors, volunteers, and partner organizations is.
We also greatly appreciate the support of the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs, whose employees organized a staff fundraiser for us, which was personally presented by Minister Aleš Juchelka.

The first half of 2026 once again confirmed that when the public, businesses, municipalities, institutions, and nonprofit organizations come together, the result is aid that makes a real difference.
