Thank you for inviting us to the seminar Municipalities and Waste – Textiles Can Help

6. 9. 2026

On Thursday, September 3, we had the opportunity to present the work of the Clothing Bank and the Karlovy Vary Textile Center at a professional seminar titled “Municipalities and Waste,” which took place at the Karlovy Vary Regional Office.

Our director, Dana Pavlousková, spoke on behalf of the Clothing Bank, presenting our work to date as well as opportunities for collaboration with cities and municipalities. The main topic focused primarily on the journey of unwanted textiles—from their collection and sorting to their reuse.

Today, textiles are not just a matter of waste management. Properly sorted and still-usable clothing can be given a second life while also helping people who find themselves in difficult life situations. It is precisely this connection between the environmental and social dimensions that is one of the main purposes of our work.

Another major topic was our collaboration with municipalities and the operations of the Karlovy Vary Textile Center, which helps establish a system for the collection, sorting, and reuse of textiles directly in the region.

We thank the Karlovy Vary Region for the invitation and the opportunity to be part of this important discussion. We believe that cooperation between municipalities, the nonprofit sector, and other partners is the way to give unwanted items a second life—while also helping where it’s needed. ♻️
