Clothing bank at the Waste Prevention 2025 conference

14. 11. 2025

On Thursday, November 13, we participated in the Waste Prevention 2025 conference organized by the Czech Environmental Management Center (ČEMC) at the Magenta T-Mobile Experience Center in Prague. The event focused on current topics related to waste prevention, the circular economy, and sustainable resource management.

Textile waste is currently one of the fastest growing categories of waste in the Czech Republic and throughout the European Union. That is why we consider it important to open a discussion on systemic solutions that will allow quality textiles to remain in circulation for as long as possible.

At the conference, we presented the Clothing Bank model as a functional example of a circular approach in practice—a way to return clothing to circulation where it can have the greatest social impact. Every piece of clothing that does not end up in mixed waste but helps specific people in need represents real waste prevention.

The conference confirmed that the interest of cities, institutions, companies, and the non-profit sector in circular cooperation is growing. At the same time, it was noted that the whole issue deserves a more effective systemic solution at the state level. The Clothing Bank wants to continue to be an active partner in this change and strive to connect environmental and social benefits in practice.

We would like to thank the organizers for the invitation and all participants for the inspiring discussion.

Together, we can move Czechia towards more responsible and sustainable textile management. ❤️
