At our Clothink bank, we are extremely grateful for the wave of solidarity that arose after our call for help to fill our empty warehouses. The Ministry of Defense also responded to this call, and thanks to its employees, we managed to collect nearly 3 tons of clothing—hundreds of items for children and adults who find themselves in difficult life situations.
The impetus for the collection was information about the shortage of clothing, which inspired Defense Minister Jana Černochová to announce an internal voluntary campaign among the ministry’s employees. The response was immediate – dozens of workplaces and hundreds of employees across the Czech Republic got involved. Thanks to their willingness and empathy, a huge amount of clothing was collected, which will soon be handed over to people in need.
Defense Minister Jana Černochová said in a thank-you letter: “I greatly appreciate your work. It has a direct and visible impact on the lives of people who find themselves in dire straits. It helps them regain their dignity and hope. Their solidarity is proof that helping others has a firm place in our society and that together we can do a lot of good.“
These words give us great pleasure and motivate us to continue our work. The Ministry of Defense’s collection will help us prepare for the coming period, which is particularly challenging for many families. The clothing from this event will restore dignity and warmth to hundreds of people who would otherwise have nothing to wear.
The clothing bank would like to thank all Ministry of Defense employees who participated in the collection, as well as the Minister for her support and encouragement. This is clear proof that solidarity and humanity have an irreplaceable place in our society.
