April was a month of intense support, collaboration, and important developments for the Clothing Bank. In total, we received 7 tons of donated goods, which represents not only a significant commitment for us, but above all an opportunity to help where it is needed most.
We received tremendous support this month from the following companies and partners: Mattoni, the municipality of Polnička, Panasonic, Dream Pro, KPMG, LEGO LMT, Dagmar Vybíralová, ORACLE, SCS, ČEZ, Ambiente, Daikin, Husky, CBRE, Blue Style, the Jewish Community, TotalEnergies, Second Foundation, and our general partner JTI.
A big thank you also goes to our individual donors, who have shown us their trust over the long term—we truly appreciate it.
Thanks to this support, in April we were able to:
• assist individual applicants by sending 0.245 tons of clothing,
• and distribute an additional 4 tons through partner organizations.
The aid went to organizations such as: HC Srdce, Dobré místo, Hnutí pro život, Poradna pro občanství / Občanská a lidská práva z. s., Votice Municipal Office, Hodonín u Kunštátu Children’s Home, Prima rodina, Světlo Kadaň, Rubikon Karlovy Vary, DOLMEN, the Ministry of the Interior’s Refugee Facility Administration, and shelters for mothers with children
The rest of the donations were used as follows:
• 1.755 tons were sent to POTEX for eco-friendly processing,
• 0.5 tons went to our network of Fashion Charity Shops,
• 0.5 tons were sent to Ragtex for further use.
A big thank you also goes to the volunteers from Česká spořitelna, Amazon, and TotalEnergies, who helped us with the sorting. Without their help, we would not have been able to handle such a large volume.
New “Obleč Plzeň” Website
At a press conference, we officially announced the launch of the new portal www.oblecplzen.cz, which is now the fourth of its kind following those in Prague, Brno, and Jihlava.
A big thank you goes out to everyone involved in the project. We would like to specifically thank:
• Deputy Mayor of Plzeň P. Bosák,
• Head of the Department of the Environment D. Kaiferová Svobodová,
• Head of the ADRA Plzeň Volunteer Center N. Novák,
• Director of the Plzeň Region Furniture Bank M. Kupková.
We appreciate their support, cooperation, and above all, the fact that they are people with their hearts in the right place ❤️
Aid for a Shelter in Liberec
Over the course of the month, we also delivered supplies to the Shelter for Women and Mothers with Children in Liberec-Ruprechtice, where we were welcomed by Ms. Hanzlíková.
Thanks to our collaboration with Evona, we were able to provide brand-new underwear and comfortable sweatpants, which will make the women’s daily lives more pleasant and give them at least a little bit of security in their difficult life situation.
The aid also included emergency packages with clothing from our Clothing Bank.
The Clothing Bank on “Inkognito”
A big thank you goes to Prima TV for inviting us to appear on the popular show “Inkognito,” hosted by Libor Bouček and featuring a fantastic panel of judges.
The chance to present the Clothing Bank on such a widely watched program was not only a great honor for us, but above all a unique opportunity to introduce our work to the general public. Viewers were able to get a glimpse of how we help people in need, how much work goes into it, and what an important role our donors, partners, and volunteers play.
Thank you for this experience and the chance to spread awareness that helping others makes a difference ❤️
