We’ve launched the new Obleč České Budějovice website

4. 6. 2026

Residents of České Budějovice and the entire South Bohemian Region now have access to the user-friendly Obleč České Budějovice portal, which brings together in one place various options for donating clothing, textiles, and other items to those in need or passing them on for further use.

People in South Bohemia want to help

According to a survey conducted by Ipsos for the Obleč České Budějovice project, residents of the South Bohemian Region are thinking more responsibly than ever about what happens to their clothes. Nearly 60% of people combine buying new and secondhand clothing and actively seek ways to give unwanted items a second life.

When sorting clothes, the biggest motivation for most respondents is helping people in need. The environmental aspect is just as important—people want clothes to avoid ending up unnecessarily in landfills and instead be reused, recycled, or processed in an environmentally friendly way.

Clear information all in one place

Many people want to donate clothing but often don’t know where to turn. That’s why the Obleč České Budějovice portal was created, offering an interactive map and a list of organizations, collection points, and projects dedicated to helping those in need or reusing textiles.

Visitors can find information here on:
• where to donate gently used clothing,
• where textile collection points are located,
• which organizations in the region accept material donations.

Together for People and the Environment

Textile waste is becoming an increasingly significant environmental burden. That is why we welcome initiatives that promote the reuse of clothing while also helping people who find themselves in difficult life situations,” said Tomáš Bouzek, Deputy Mayor of České Budějovice.

Dana Pavlousková, Director of the Clothing Bank, adds that the project’s goal is to show people a simple way they can help: “We want to show people that even clothing they no longer wear can have another meaningful use. Thanks to the Obleč České Budějovice project, people can easily find out where to donate their clothes so they can help those in need or be put back into circulation.”

Local organizations also support the project. The ADRA Volunteer Center in České Budějovice particularly appreciates that the portal connects organizations across the region and makes it easier for people to get involved in helping others.

Donating clothes is now easier

Survey results show that residents of the South Bohemian Region would particularly welcome better access to information about options for donating and sorting clothes. The new portal addresses this very need.

We believe that thanks to the Obleč České Budějovice project, more clothing will find new owners, help people in difficult life situations, and at the same time reduce the amount of textiles ending up in the trash.
