May was a month of hard work, collaboration, and tangible assistance for Oděvní banka. Thanks to the support of our corporate partners, individual donors, and volunteers, we received a total of 4.2 tons of in-kind donations during the month, which subsequently helped families, individuals, and organizations throughout the Czech Republic.
We received tremendous support from Datamole, Vivantis, Saint-Gobain, PUMAX, ROHLÍK, Copy General, KLOKTEX, and our general partner JTI. We would also like to thank all individual donors who decided to support our work.
Of the total volume of aid received during May:
• 0.4 tons were sent in the form of emergency packages to individual applicants,
• 2.2 tons were distributed through partner organizations,
• 1.1 tons were handed over to POTEX for eco-friendly processing,
• 0.5 tons were handed over to Ragtex for further use.
In May, assistance went to organizations such as HC Srdce, Dobré místo, K srdci klíč, CSS Příbram, the Votice Municipal Office, KLOKTEX, Kvalitní podzim života, LATA – programs for youth and families, POINT Milovice, TADY A TEĎ o.p.s., DDŠ, ZŠ, and ŠJ Vrchlabí, Maltese Aid, and the Karlovy Vary Textile Center.
We also greatly appreciate the support of volunteers from Česká spořitelna, Amazon, and GRAFTON, who helped us sort donations and manage warehouse operations.
However, May wasn’t just about distributing aid. We also had the opportunity to speak at a professional seminar organized by the Regional Development Agency of the Plzeň Region, where we presented the activities of the Clothing Bank and our new project, the Regional Textile Center of the Karlovy Vary Region. The topic of responsible textile management and new legislative obligations for municipalities will become increasingly important in the coming years, and we are glad to be part of this discussion.
We were also delighted by the employee donation drive organized by Vivantis. In addition to clothing, we received cosmetics for single parents and their children. It is precisely these kinds of donations that help families manage their daily expenses and provide support where it is needed most.
In May, we also launched a fundraiser to purchase our first van, which will help us streamline the collection and delivery of aid throughout the country. We transport hundreds of kilograms of donations every day, and having our own vehicle would allow us to allocate more resources directly to helping those in need.
