February was a month of intense work, new partnerships, and concrete help for people in need for the Clothing Bank. Thanks to the support of companies, institutions, and individual donors, we were able to continue with what matters most.
How much aid did we receive and distribute?
In February, we received a total of 15,228.77 kg of material aid. We received great support from companies and organizations such as the Federation of Food Banks, Less Mess Storage, the municipality of Drahelčice, Foodora, PUMAX, EVONA, Purple Foundation, H. Počernice Secondary School, and our general partner JTI.
A huge thank you also goes to our individual donors, who have shown us their trust over the long term.
Thanks to this support, we were able to:
• send 62 emergency packages to individual applicants,
• distribute another 2,695.61 kg of clothing through partner organizations.
In February, aid went to organizations such as People in Need, Movement for Life, Charita Jihlava, Nový Prostor, PN Bohnice, and many others throughout the country.
A big thank you also goes to the volunteers from Amazon and Česká spořitelna who came to help us with sorting.
Support for war veterans: a new partnership is born
We have joined forces with the Agency for the Support of War Veterans, which has been supporting war veterans for many years. Together, we have launched a new project focused on providing concrete and meaningful help to people who have sacrificed more for our society than we can often imagine.
On our part, the assistance takes a very practical form – material support in the form of clothing that can make everyday life easier for veterans and at the same time remind them that we have not forgotten them. The first packages are already on their way to Jihlava and are heading exactly where they are most needed.
❗ Currently, we are most in need of men’s clothing, which has been in short supply for a long time. If you can help in this way, we would be very happy to hear from you.
This project is another step for us towards being where our help has a real impact – responding to real-life situations and restoring dignity to those who deserve it. We will keep you informed of further developments.
We are joining forces with furniture banks
We have established a new partnership with the Furniture Bank of the Pilsen Region as part of the nationwide project Dress Up the City, this time prepared for the Pilsen Region.
The partnership is based on mutual support and more efficient use of the capacities of both organizations. We focus on coordinating material assistance—from clothing and furniture to household equipment—according to current possibilities and needs.
Long-term experience has shown us that assistance often involves more than one type of support. People who are leaving shelters, dealing with a crisis situation, or re-furnishing their homes need a combination of material assistance. That is why the connection between the Clothing Bank and the Furniture Bank makes so much sense.
We love it when partners clean out their warehouses
A big thank you goes to the Food Bank led by Aleš Slavíček, thanks to whom we received 12 pallets of brand new Amazon T-shirts for our partner organizations and clients.
Such donations allow us to respond quickly and effectively to current needs in the field. Thank you very much!
We are strengthening cooperation in the Karlovy Vary Region
It seems that the Karlovy Vary Region will be the next region where we will expand our activities. This is also thanks to our excellent partners, including the Karlovy Vary Region Food Bank.
Our two banks have been working together for several years. This week, we agreed to strengthen our cooperation so that our emergency clothing packages can reach more people who would otherwise not be able to afford them. We will do our utmost to support our colleagues in their work, especially given the unabated number of clients who need their help.
We would like to express our heartfelt thanks to everyone we have met over the past month, whether at the Clothing Bank or in our Fashion Charity Shops.
