The start of the year at the Clothing Bank was marked by hard work, strong support from donors, and important new partnerships. Thanks to the involvement of companies, institutions, and individuals, we are able to provide help where it is needed most.
In the first quarter of 2026, we received a total of 32 tons of material aid, which underwent careful sorting, allowing us to maximize its potential. The resulting distribution of aid is as follows:
• 21 tons of clothing were distributed through our partner organizations to people in need throughout the Czech Republic
• 1 ton of clothing was distributed directly to individual recipients through emergency aid packages
• 1 ton of clothing was allocated to our network of Fashion Charity Shops
• 3 tons of clothing were sent for further processing to Ragtex (clothing that does not meet the criteria for direct aid but still has further use)
• 6 tons of clothing were handed over to POTEX, which handles the removal and eco-friendly processing of textile waste
The aid was directed, for example, to the organizations HC Srdce, Dobré místo, Potravinová banka Central, Hnutí pro život, Strakonice Municipal Office, Domov pod skalami Kurovodice, Human Rights Advisory Center / Civil and Human Rights Association, G Center, Prague 6 Municipal Office, Votice Municipal Office, ADRA Plzeň, KOTEC, Hodonín u Kunštátu Children’s Home, KLOKTEX, Charita Cheb, and Rubikon Karlovy Vary.
Concrete help that makes an immediate impact
We also greatly appreciate targeted donations that address current needs. One example is more than 300 kg of sweatpants and women’s underwear from the Czech manufacturer EVONA.
This type of clothing is among the most scarce items, and for homeless people or women in acute need, it means not only comfort but, above all, dignity.
Education and New Partnerships
Part of our work involves raising awareness. In the first quarter, we launched the “Save a T-Shirt” educational program, which shows children that clothes don’t have to end up in the trash.
At the same time, we have strengthened our collaboration with the Furniture Bank of the Liberec Region and the Furniture Bank of the South Bohemian Region. Together, we help people rebuild a dignified living environment—from clothing to household furnishings.
Help Backed by People
We also greatly appreciate the support of the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs, whose employees organized a fundraiser for us, which was personally handed over by Minister Aleš Juchelka.
Every initiative like this is proof to us that solidarity has a firm place in Czech society.
The first quarter of 2026 showed that when the public, companies, and institutions come together, the result is aid that has tangible results and a real impact.
Thank you for helping us 💚
