The only period when we have a range of products other than clothes in our hands at the Clothing Bank is the last quarter of the year, marked by major pre-Christmas preparations.
In October, our partner organisation, the Single Mothers’ Club, once again collected specific wishes of individual children from single parent families who are on a budget and mapped out what would make them the happiest under the Christmas tree.
November and the first weeks of December are then marked by distribution, when each individual gift is wrapped and sent to individual addresses. Our volunteers are a great help to us, who exceptionally during their last visits to us did not sort the donated clothes, but helped us wrap the Christmas presents.
A list of all the children’s wishes, both fulfilled and unfulfilled, is available on our traditional Christmas Wish Tree. And, as we do every year, we must say a big thank you to all the donors who take it upon themselves to fulfill each Christmas wish and send financial contributions via QR codes so that we can send more gifts out into the world as soon as possible.
